Talking Evening all

Hi all,

I've been sneaking in and reading the board since I was pointed in this direction a few weeks ago, and thought it was only fair and polite that I finally stick my head above the parapet and say hello.

I'm not a breather diver as yet (sorry, another imposter for you all), currently Adv Nitrox & Deco Procs qualified, but have been kicking around the idea of a box since reading a post Dr Mike put up elsewhere - about getting trapped in a wreck at 60m. The idea of a hell of a lot of gas, time and options is a deeply appealing one, and as I start to consider Trimix, there is the cost of gas to factor in too. You see, I might just be gullible enough to believe that a box could eventually end up being cost effective ....(Yeah, right .)

Final straws were:

a) diving with some guys on boxes in Egypt just before Christmas - whilst I was racking up deco at an irritating rate of knots, they were serenely swanning along. Gits.
b) Gibbering with cold on a 30 min deco stop in January. The guys on the boxes looked oh-so-much warmer. I repeat: Gits.

Anyway, decision has been made in principle - now I just need to try one of the things out to make sure I don't instantly detest it... My preference is for an Inspiration rather than an Evo. I'm hopefully going to have a play with Mr Hayhurst's unit when he is next down in Southern parts, and then it is a case of smiling sweetly at Mr Mastercard. God bless debt.

Cracking board Stuart.... look forward to reading and learning!

Cheers all,
H

P.S. I have high score on PacMan. I am such a child.

Howdy Helen, from the deepest, darkest wilds of the Great Republic of Tejas! Glad you've decided to join us Gits!

Glad also that you have decided to join the ranks of YBOD owners. That would be, according to the crazed Mad Mole, the Yelllow Box Of Debt.

Cheers!
