![]() | Greetings! Hello to all. Never dove a rebreather - am looking for mentorship so to speak. Have been a freediver for several years and have grown tired of open circuit while diving on supplied air. Met some great folks at DEMA 2006 and learned enough that it intrigued me to come and register. I publish a site devoted to shooting video underwater - Welcome to UWDV.COM - Dedicated to the Art of Shooting Underwater Video - and am wanting to learn what it takes to dive a rebreather. One person I spoke with from NC I believe had stated that there are those who make their rebreathers - I was shocked! ![]() Is it safe to do such a thing? The price tag to get into rebreathers is way out of my range with a commercial unit and the idea of doing a DIY does intrigue me - but only if it is proven to be safe. I will probably lurk quite a bit - but reaally would like to learn how to use a rebreather so that I can shoot video with better results due to longer bottom times. Best regards, |

Feel free to ask what ever comes to mind, so keep those questions coming. Plenty of Rebreather divers here on board willing to answer your questions. Also, there are several UW videographers on board here. Again, welcome on board. Enjoy, RBN ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome aboard Rebreather World !! I popped in on your site and was impressed. There's quite a bit of mentoring goes on here and much good advice. Also a little not-so-good but, with time, you'll learn to 'calibrate' the posters. It's unfortunate that you didn't come up on line a week or so before DEMA, we might have enveigled you into joining the DEMA video Team. Look for video initiative threads and postings. Maybe next time Cheers..........Dan

| Holiday diver Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Greetings! Welcome Mate! If you ever need something calibrated, just send it to Perth and we'll take care of it for you. no worries. And Rebreather's are never safe, like homebuilds are never safe as like X-ing the street is never safe. Learn to look right, look left and look right again and keep your eyes open before you X and you should be fine. Heapsa good info and very nice helpfull people on this site! Denz.
