![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi all, I've been lurking here for a few months and decided to register and get involved. I'm a professional ecologist specialising in remote telemetry of fish and other wet things. Over the last few years I've been working on chasing Murray cod, Australia's largest freshwater fish (historical reports of 6ft, 113kg), around in nil visibility rivers to try to get a handle on how they use habitat features in their environment. I'd love to use rbs to get close to these big guys but their environment makes it difficult, so I'm not currently using Rebreather gear in my work, but I'd be really interested to get in contact with people who have similar interests. Out of hours (and sometimes during ) I'm restoring a 50ft steel ketch "Matagi" and waiting patiently for my Prism to show up. The course starts in 2 weeks and it's been a fair while since I sold my Azimuth so I'm really looking forward to getting back on a breather....all you aussies on here, just don't go there.Well thats about it, I'm known on DiveOz and have posted a bit on TDS and NWD lists, and have a penchant for crazy ideas and tendency to DIY.... See you on the boards, or underwater. Cheers Bear |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Bear, Welcome to the "Black Sheep Squadron" of re-breather pilots! We have a great collection people with really diverse backgrounds all over the world. Glad to have someone with a professional background in ecology! We look forward to having your input on things happening in the oceans in which we try to live as much as possible. Sounds as if you have a great boat, or hole in the water into which one pours money, to have a love-hate relationship with! Up-load some pics of your rig, your boat, and tell us some stories, mate! Cheers! Rob Davie

He was my instructor when I was up in Tennessee. Funny how he was wearing his drysuit in the pool but that is another conversation. We had Fish and Chip one night while I was there... Great guy... I am glad to hear the Prisms arrived. I am sure that is going to keep Luke busy. All my best, Andrew |
