Hello from Southern California!

Hi all,

Just registered today and wanted to introduce myself. I am Andy Sallmon an underwater photographer and Inspiration diver for 2 years now. Though I have approximately 7000 dives under my fins they have been largely with OC. I just completed my 138th dive at Catalina Island yesterday with the Inspiration and am loving every minute of it.

I have been in the dive industry and diving since 1979 and am still an active NAUI instructor. I use my CCR for underwater photography and have been very pleasantly surprised at how differently marine life responds to a non-bubbling diver.
As the "new guy" on the forum I hope to find out more about travelling with rebreathers, becoming a CCR Instructor and of course safety.

The guys on here don't bite... much, but they're a friendly bunch and will answer any questions you may have

caveseeker7 aka Stefan has just moved from SoCal back to Germany and sent us a DVD of California diving by Alan Studley... it looked absolutely stunning, I was looking forward to diving there, but our reason for visiting out there is no longer there...

Anyway enough waffle, again welcome and enjoy

Hi Andy,

Welcome to Rebreather World! I live in Utah but travel to SoCal on business every 3rd week. I bring my Inspiration with occasionally. Maybe we can hookup for a dive sometime.

Hope you enjoy the forum. I have found it to be a wealth of information.

welcome to the forum. great bunch of people here.. always willing to answer the silliest question and so willing to help. great place.
ive always wanted to do some diving around catalina islands, but havent had the chance yet. i envy you, nice warmer waters.... but i do have the clear clean water up north, and abalone, so i guess its a trade off! anyhow. welcome from a guy up north of you
