Hi everyone,

I'm not on a rebreather yet but I hope to be within the next year.
This seemed like a good place to do some research.

I have around 250 dives, over the past 11 years, mostly NJ wrecks. I recently finished an OC normoxic trimix course and I'm quickly realizing the benifits rebreathers offer. I'm not necessarily looking dive deeper than what I can currently do on OC, but the gas efficiency, lower operating cost compared to OC, and weight reduction alone are very attractive.

My biggest problem at the moment seems to be deciding which unit is right for me.
I'm looking for a robust machine that will accomodate me as my skill level grows. So far I'm leaning towards the Meg, but what I really need is an objective expanation of the pro's and con's of the different units out there.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Wellcome! You will find a lot of nice articles and threads about different breathers.

Gas cost can be lower put operational costs otherwise will not be. I can that anyway Rebreather diving is worth the money
