![]() | Rebreathers in Sydney Hi all, I am intending to qualify as an inspiration rebreather diver, and may be moving to Sydney in the next couple of months. I was just wondering if there were many rebreather divers / clubs around Sydney and if the Inspiration / Evolution is the most popular rebreather down there? Cheers, Mark |

Cheers, Mark there is an active group of Inspiration wreck divers in Sydney centered around Southern Cross Divers in Mosman. See http://www.southerncrossdivers.com.au/. This shop is run by Baz, another Pom who has escaped to the colonies. He has sold 80-100 Inspirations in Aus and can help you with training etc. The Inspiration is by far the most popular Rebreather in Aus and is well supported by Baz. So if you are moving down here then come visit us at "The Troll Cave". Guy |

![]() | Re: Rebreathers in Sydney Have a chat wit Baz at SXD, He's a nice bloke. It seems mainly Inspo's, and and a few prism's or Kiss in sydney. SXD is the only real location that's tooled up for Rebreather's in the area. If you're looking for club, there's an active BSAC club with 4 Rebreather users, (5 soon with a bit of luck (me)). The social side is good with weekly beering, and a combination of shallower and deeper dives. http://www.sydneysubaquaclub.com There's plenty of shore diving around too if you like. Ps. Flog the tanks if you're open circuit, and be prepared to replace them spending significantly more than in the UK, and yearly hydros, (they're much cheaper to do here) Stock up on dive tat as well, it's all steeper here, with no significant web competition, and lots of RRP prices -Ouch. It's warm and sunny 'though, and you'll eat like a king. Rump on special is three pounds a kilo, fillet full price is thirteen quid a kilo. Good Luck. ![]() |
