I'm not a diver (yet), but I'm working on a book in which underwater stealth plays a part. Is there a recommended research doc on rebreather capabilities and military applications?

Your best research would be talking to someone IMHO - Tracey Robinette makes a Rebreather which is used my military forces around the world and is based in CA.
