Hi DanHeard some interesting stuff regarding cavediving on Lanzarote, do you have some info and recomendations? sorry to infrm you that there are no real caves that can be dived safely on Lanzarote, there are a few nice caverns but no serious caves for advanced divers. Having said that, there are a couple of lava tubes in Mala north of the island, they are worth diving once or twice but as said these are not real caves. There is a cave system also in the north and I know some people who have walked a long way with gear to get to dive it, but it is not oficially allowed so we keep clear of it. We have very nice drop offs both in the centre of the island ( puerto del carmen) and in the south (playa Blanca, around the light house) so if you would like some info on that let me know. Cheers Chris |

You cannot dive jameos del agua, it is only open for sightseeing. We have a few lava tubes in the north, a place called Mala, I personally enjoy them but they are relatively simple to dive, nothing like real dive penetration. Not sure if it is your shop we are diving with (I am learning with Richie Stevenson). Really look forward to it. Won't be doing anything serious as it will be all we can do to learn the new skills. Hopefully see your shop there Dave |
