Hi from Russia!

Im from Moscow, Russia.

4 and half years at Draeger Ray.
Every winter we dive under ice at White Sea (Ray works fine).

And (briliant of my collection) several times at Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant cooling system. But its not work, just for fun (but dont ask to my wife ).

Privet!

I would appreciate tips on how you dive in the White Sea in winter. I have tried exactly that, but the ice was so thick (about 2 metres thick where I went), I could not get through it even with the help from a local army unit, so you must have found a good place. How far out did you have to go to find cracks?

Winter diving in the Finnish Gulf is OK because it is under a metre thick, even though it is not very saline, and has natural fractures if you drive out far enough: probably all the pollution from St Petersburg! Bit shallow though.

For those in warmer clines, St Petersburg had wet snow fall today. Apart from that, the thaw started last week in the North of Russia, but the sea is still hard frozen. If you are going to do this next year in the White Sea, I am interested in coming along!

Do you have any good pictures to post?

Welcome to the forum.

Cheers

Alex

Do you have any pictures of your Ray Diving Adventures in the White Sea? Would be great if you could post the pictures here in the Forum.

Best,

Privet Andrei,

Welcome a board.
Take easy with that "plant cooling system" as a clock can stop permanently at 6 o'clock position...

Re: Hi from Russia!

Hmmm, the White Sea sounds like a cool trip. The other area I'd be interested in is Lake Baikal. Has anyone been there?

Thanks,
Robert

Welcome to Rebreather World, Andrei.
Thanks for the pics in the gallery, they look as cold as White Sea sounds.
