Hi Cathy

There is no difference in the finish between the silver and the black it is the green that is a tougher finish. give it a short while and yours wont show up the scratches as much as jons. mine is clear anodised (silver).

Thanks everyone for your responses...all I'd heard up till now was how wonderful everyone found CCR diving to be, so it's good to know it's not just me that struggled as a newbie

I've even had some moral support from my little blue friend, though I'm not sure who's most jealous of who yet

Gadget - I've started a new thread re. my canister in the Meg Forum, complete with some photos, cheers.

That's not quite right.

The black finish is hard-coat anodized, which is a more durable finish than the green or the clear (or any othe color) are regular anodized. Hard-coating provides a thicker finish that is more resistant to abrasion.
