| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Hello, I’m Andreas, German, 44 years and living in Hong Kong. I dive for 20 years and have started Rebreather diving 2000 in Germany on a Dolphin. I was always fascinated from the efficiency of a CCR rather than a SCR or even OC, but in Germany was during that time mainly the Inspiration available and this is not my favoured. As I have been moved in 2004 to Hong Kong I have met a couple of Rebreather divers and Paul Neilson, an IANTD / DSAT Closed Circuit Rebreather Instructor for KISS, Prism Topaz, Inspiration and Mark15 / Mark 15.5. I took the chance and did a try dive on a Mark 15.5 and have immediately decided that is my favoured unit. Fortunately there was a guy he has owned 2 MK15.5 and his business was not good running during that time and he offered me one. So I bought it and did the first dives in Hong Kong waters and finished the user course and Normox Trimix CCR diver on the Philippines together with Paul and my buddy Brian. With Paul together have I modified my MK15.5 with a 3 way valve for off board gas supply, cooper hoses with a fourth fuel cell adaptor in the inhale hose to be able to connect a VR3 and added a Halcyon RB80 mouthpiece. At the end of 2004 I did a Trimix course on open circuit and got certified in March 2005 as IANTD and DSAT Trimix CCR Rebreather diver on the MK15.5. I did several dives in Hong Kong, Philippines and this year in Truk Lagoon and will do in May an Expedition CCR Trimix Diver course with Paul. It would be nice to get response from other Rebreather divers, especially from MK15.X divers. Cheers Andreas |

As a beginner on the Inspiration, I have found a lot of great information here on Rebreather World, about the unit and CC diving in general. Great people here as well, including quite a few of the diving icons. I hope you enjoy being a member.
