Lightbulb New to rebreather's

I am contemplating the purchase of a SCCR or CCR. It all depends of ease of use, safety and cost. I intend on diving the northeast atlantic and I do deep wreck diving as well as photography. Since I also crew on a dive boat, I would require a system that is geared toward simplicity in handling working tasks and maintain diving safety. Any ideas would be helpful!

Hi and welcome to our community.

You sure have come to the right place to ask!

Well Rebreather's sure will give you benefits for both deep wreck diving and for photography as for the ease of use...

Well it must be said they are more complicated then just throwing on a first stage to a full cylinder and diving - but 99% of your prep can be done at home in the garage, so when your on the boat, short of a pre breath and a final once over there really isn't going to be much additional work.

When you say working tasks - do you mean whilst under water? If so I would reccomend an eCCR so you had an 'electronic safety net' for if you are busy and forget to keep an eye on that all important PPO2.....

Tell us alittle more and we can help give you some direction.

Stuart
