Hi my name is Mike, I am an Aussie, I have been diving for some time now, spent time on O2 sets many years ago and I still like the little beasts. I have been squeezing time in between work to restore some ... make that totally rebuild them and have been concentrating lately on various LAR sets. Looking for parts, or machining parts takes up a deal of time with these units since they are not easily found over here, it soon turns into a collecting obsession.

When things get a bit hectic grabbing a small O2 set and spending a couple of hours or so under some jetty (pier) looking at critters is quite relaxing compared to prepping a CCR for a deeper dive

My preferred dive sites are in the Coral Sea, thus far not polluted or trashed.

Looking forward to learning more about the best sport, hobby, recreation whatever via this forum

Cheers

Mike

Hi Mike, welcome to Rebreather World.
Never tried an O2 rig, but they seem like good fun for shallow water.

Hi Mike,

Welcome aboard.

Just bear in mind that O2 units are just as capable at offing you as full ECCR.

I would prep mine much the same way as any of my ECCRs, (that is if the government hadn't insisted on having mine back..... )

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

Hey Mike!

I recently bought a LAR V or VI, I am not sure!
Maybee you can help!
It is all made of injected urethane not fiberglass.
Do you know if some LAR V were made out of urethane in the past (US version)???
Let me know!

Mike,

Welcome to Rebreather World! There are quite a number of Aussies here (even some who technically aren't Aussies at all - like myself). If you are interested in the deep - contact the Sydney Project (www.sydneyproject.com)
