So no hard feelings then? ![]() ![]() Seriously though, glad to see you're still online and taking part in the Uk community. ![]()

The good thing about this site is that we are all of the same mind to some extent - we have accepted the use of Rebreathers as a good thing and gone out and got/built them. That is an excellent starting point! No snide comments from the DIR-wallahs. No accusations of elitism from everyone else. I like it here. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ahhh, but I'm an argumentative git... I like the DIR argies!!! Funny though, I've started noticing that a lot of people who took to DIR fairly early on (4 years ago or more) have now moved on to rebreathers. Stranger still is that they have tended to move on to rebreathers that aren't the RB80 (or similar), especially the KISS. Stranger still, most of the people I've seen dive RB80 derivatives are not DIR divers. But maybe I've just seen quite a small sample. Cheers, Stuart |

It's a serious problem.Technical Diver Syndrome took you in to twinsets because the things you wanted to see were too deep to do it sensibly without deco and deco meant redundancy. Once you have that sorted the symptoms recurred and you needed stages. You hadn't had them long when you had another relapse and needed a rebreather. I have reached the trimix rebreather stage and justify it totally on nautical archaeological grounds. OK the wreck I am currently researching is at 18m but that doesn't really matter. It might have been much deeper so I am prepared.

Cheers, Stuart[/quote] Stuart, I am a member on one board where, should you mention anything that is contrary to DIR thinking, you are burned at the stake for heresy immediately. They"tolerate" a re-breather presence, so long as you tacitly recognize that the Rebreather-80 is always the "best" choice in RB's. I remain a member because there are some good deco people there. I am a member of another board where DIR types have their own "Wildlife Preserve", and so rarely stray from the reservation. If they do, like rogue bull elephants they are herded back on, or shot. I am happiest here, since this is a nest of creatures from the "Dark Side" of diving, and we recognize our fellow creatures quite well. By the way, I really do like that audio clip you have on your website of GI3 speaking publicly! It's nice to know that others have the same opinion of the leader of "The Amish Diving Society" that I do!Cheers! Rob Davie
