Talking

I have actually - like the Divex ones? If you see the military life preservers (PLP), they do just that - pull the toggle and the "lungs" (buoyancy device) pops out (and inflate). If I can get hold of one, it would be a fun conversion project...

I was also very impressed with the KISS I was fiddling with at the weekend. I love the way the lungs are tucked away behind and encased in the frame.

So, maybe a combination of the two?

The only other issue is chest clutter. Given that it is for emergencies, I'd use a sidemount DSV like the Joker mouthpiece. Which makes it just like the current bailout, nice and neat and tucked out of the way...

One day I'm going to stop talking about this and actually make the damn thing...

The cheap yachttie ones to the same. Mine was about £45. I wonder...

I'm happy to have found such a great Forum on RBs. I just finished a 30 minute Couch Dive yesterday on a homemade O2 CCR. Next weekend I plan to hit a nearby pool for sea trials! I'll try to post pics of the unit as soon as possible for those that are interested.
Hey, welcome to the group.

I see that you attended the Will Smither’s school of minimalism.

Very nice designs and I like the way you crossed over the parts from other materials.

What part of Texas do you reside sir? I am in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area.

Welcome to the group.

Regards, Andrew

Thank You All, for the warm welcome

I really appreciate the warm welcome everyone has extended. I am out here in the South Dallas area (Glenn Hieghts) and there are not many divers around here. I am pleasantly surprised by all the positive comments and great questions I've received about my winter projects. It's been a slow process and I must have built and discarded a dozen other prototypes since I started. I will try to give more elaboration and better pictorials later about the building process that was involved. Especially about the DSV.
