![]() ![]() | Hello from Brisbane Hi guys, just thought I'd stop off here and introduce myself. My name is Robert Cook, and I'm currently diving a Meg in Brisbane, Australia. I'm diving most weekends at the moment, and at this stage I'm planning to do a mix course in about October. My main interest is wreck diving, taken from a historical (ie non-plundering) perspective. I'll also get into cave diving eventually, but the lack of local caves is a major problem in this regard. Thanks, Robert |

Hi Robert,Thanks, Robert Welcome onboard, are there many wrecks around Brisbane? I went there in '88 but wasn't diving then. Ian |

![]() ![]() | Mate, there's plenty of wrecks. What there isn't is large stuff. The best we've got is the St Paul (42M), which is a great dive with (usually) brilliant vis and planty of fish, but even this was only a few hundred tons AFAIK, Thanks, Robert |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome!!!!! Robert, Welcome to Stuart Ford's Rebreather World Flying Circus. We've got a great community forming here, with room for re-breathing creatures of all stripes and types. How about some piccies of the wrecks you've been diving, sans bubbles of course, and tell us more about your self and your diving. G'day, and again, welcome! Rob Davie

![]() | Check out www.esperancestar.com.au Pics of the St. Paul and the Cementco in there, but none of a collection of purpose-sunk wrecks called Curtin Artificial Reef. Many of the other photos are of wrecks done during regular trips to the Bunker Group near Bundaberg (still in Queensland, bottom of the GBR). |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Well, I've tried to get Simon Mitchell to join here, but so far he hasn't. Robert, welcome by the way, good to see you here. Plenty of Meg divers around, you'll feel right at home. ![]()

![]() ![]() | I'm not set up for UW photo as yet, and would probably go into video in preference to photo anyway. As Nathan has said, the ES site is one of the better ones for photos of the local wrecks. It's also the best boat in town. As for other info about me, what would you like to know? At the moment, I'm not really up to much, just diving as much as the finances permit (which is less than I'd like). I'm a proponent of experience being more important than formal training. I also push the idea of regular training-only dives after the formal course is over. As a result of these 2 items, I'm not an instructor. As for pet peeves, too many to list, Thanks, Robert |

| Smelling Dairy Air Current Rebreather/s: | Hey guys, just thought that I would poke my head in here and see what it's like without bubbles! :-) Here is a few links to a small sample of Brisbane wrecks for those that haven't dived them or seen any images of them previously: http://www.victech.org/wrecks/sample01.jpg (St Paul) http://www.victech.org/wrecks/sample02.jpg (St Paul) http://www.victech.org/wrecks/sample03.jpg (St Paul) http://www.victech.org/wrecks/sample04.jpg (St Paul) http://www.victech.org/wrecks/sample05.jpg (Melbourne - Curtin Artificial Reef) http://www.victech.org/wrecks/sample06.jpg (Melbourne - Curtin Artificial Reef) I also have some images of the St Paul with Trev from Esperance Star diving wearing his Inspo taken ages ago on my www.bearsbigadventures.com website.
