![]() | Greetings from Royal Red I'm not a diver but I do closed-circuit rebreathers for above water use. Joined this site to keep in touch with all aspects of rebreathers. Our rebreathers are referred to as SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) and are primarily utilized for mine rescue, fire-fighting, confined space entry and escape, tunneling and checmical and biological weapons remediation and warfare. Just hanging around here to keep an eye on the industry and to make sure nobody is trying any diving antics with our equipment! Our equipment has no bouyancy compensation nor does it contain an adequate facepiece for diving. From time to time I run into sites that provide instructions for modifying our equipment for fresh or slat water diving. I am trying to advise that this practice is not supported by our company nor in the least bit advised by our company. So if you see me chirping in on a rant you'll know why! |

We're glad to have any manufacturer of rebreathers, even if they are for surface use, on our site. We hope that you will join our community in supplying information to our members in a friendly way. We understand your concern about people who would, in your view, be mis-using your equipment and possibly endangering themselves. We hope that, rather than just ranting, you will explain where the design might fail when used for a situation it was not intended to be used for, and thus guide folks away from trying it. Again, welcome to Rebreather World, and we look forward to your contributions. Rob Davie Rebreather World Admin

![]() | Re: Greetings from Royal Red Thanks for the welcome. Not really going to rant if someone is trying to modify one of our above water rigs for diving. Just want to make sure nobody is doing something idiotic. Have seen plenty of unbelievable modifications to our equipment that are just plain dangerous. Glad to be a part of the site and will add any insight that I can give. |
