Hello from newbie inspo diver

I'm a BSAC diver, AD / OWI. Started diving in 1993. Finally did my Advanced Diver in 2005, after 10 years as a Dive Leader.

A friend was getting a new APD Evo, and was trying to flog his Classic, and he persuaded me that I should go closed circuit. So ended up buying the Classic and doing my PSAI MOD1 Inspiration course summer 2005 on the box.

After spending a small fortune patching the unit to an as-new condition (new counterlung inner bags, new dump valve, new HP hoses, new LP hoses, new wiring loom! etc), my wife convinced me to just order a new unit. Received my Vision Inspiration a few weeks ago. Only done 67 mins on the box so far, love the new electronics (trimix deco version), and hope to get wet again soon.

London based, but most diving is south and south west coast. Plus occasional freshwater dives for training purposes.

Hi Mark,

I too bought a second hand Inspo and it became known locally as the YBOL - Yellow Bag Of Leaks

- not quite so funny at the time though! Replaced most things as you mentioned and thankfully it eventually sorted itself out.

If you ever get down the south-west let me know - its always good to meet and dive with new people.

Hmmm, so what happened to your old Inspo? Anything still lying around from it, that is just cluttering the place up.....

Welcome aboard! Not a million miles away from you in SW London. Also building hours on the Inspiration Vision - give me a yell if you are looking for a buddy to jump in during the winter.
