Yeah, that's right. I was lured over here by Rob Davie & I'm not even a rebreather diver!

My name is Marvel (just like my screen name) & I live on the beach in the Ft Lauderdale area of SE Florida. I've been diving about 2 1/2 years but have managed to get in a fair number of dives in that time. Fully half of my diving is shallow beach diving, as a result, & I'm not really sure that a rebreather is a practical solution for the kind of diving that I do. Diving rebreathers does sound alluring, though & I am sorely tempted. So, should anyone be able to come up with some sensible reasons for me to spend the time, money, & effort to go that route, they may just be able to twist my arm....

OH, & BTW, blame Rob for my avatar...

I see that my friend Marvel has joined. She is a sweet lady, a good diver, and is working her way nearer and nearer to the clutches of us "Sith Lords" from the "Dark Side" of diving.

Perhpaps y'all can suggest some of the rationalizations....er, uh,....I mean logical reasons we have used to justify buying our units!

P.S.---Even though I seem to catch a lot of flak for silly reasons sometimes, this one really is my fault!

Hey Marvel.

Welcome to Rebreather World!!!
My suggestion is just try it and after a trial we don't will need say nothing to convince you!!!!
Just to give you a fair idea: All my students already did a trial dive on CCR bought is own unit!!!!

She's already being drawn in. It's too late. My Optima was out getting ready for tomorrow when Marvel came for a visit tonight. Try as she might, she could not stop looking. I could see the wheels turning.

I was not looking! Well, not much.

But, notice I didn't even touch, much less ask to "try it on" so to speak.

I will be looking for those clinics that you are allowed to test drive one.... and staying as far away as possible, of course....

BTW, the name of that drysuit repair guy, Howard? I am sooooo anxious to try out my latest gear.
