Hi Octogal,

Yeah, Innerkip is quite the mud-pitt. But it does the trick for OW Students.

Mud-pitt, yeah, i found the bus they have set up there, just freaked me right out, i expected to see dead people floating around in there, just creepy lol

I dive at Gullivers Lake for practice stuff, much better. I'm all for 0 vis practice, but that place....no thanks

I will in High spring from 29 Nov to 5 Dec. Then I am driving down the coast (Pompano Beach) to do the wrecks until the 24 Dec. On 24 Dec I board "Blackbeard's Sail and Dive" 65' sailboat for a week of diving the Bahamas. Then back to Toronto for some ice diving!

Any intention of going down the coast after Ginnie?

Ice Diving is somewhat weather dependent. So if we get some decent days in Feb it's a go! I usually go once or twice in Feb, again the weather?, but March is usually superb!

Nice time to go. Not too many locals out since the weather will likely be a bit chilly(by Florida standards, not yours), but great diving since the river levels should be down. Since you're doing Intro, you will likely dive Ginnie and Peacock. Also, try to check out Telford and downstream Cow. They're both within a couple miles of Peacock.

Who are you doing your training with?

If you're staying at a hotel, I recommend the High Springs Country Inn. Avoid the Cadillac Motel like the plague. If you want a recommendation for a little more private place(a cave diver and his wife that rent a room out near High springs), PM me and I'll give you the contact info. They're good people.

I'll be out in California from the 3rd through the 9th, and down in Mexico from the 11th through the 18th....so if anybody is around in the few days before/after that time, and want to do some cave diving...PM me.

I even camped at Innerkip in May........ yeah, I will never do that again. All night long cargo trains drove by honking as much as possible and the next morning, the water in my mug was frozen. It was cold! Well, that was when I was young and stupid
