| Frenchi Newbe in Rebreather World Hi everybody Newbe in the rebreatherworld, I’m following your discussion for a few times with a great interest. I’m leaving in south east France in a place close to Nice (Cote d’Azur) I’m 42, 2 children, civil engineer, diver for a long time with OC, instructor CMAS 1* (E2 FFESSM), normoxic trimix diver and rebreather diver certified (both FFESSM and IANTD) With 3 other friends, we are experiencing APD Inspiration and Evolution vision for about one Month. We have 10-15 dives on rebreather. ![]() And the more we dive with these rebreathers, the more we have new questions…. ![]() A new start in the diving world with a great modesty…. ![]() A last, sorry for my English, that I hope to be comprehensible. ![]() But don’t worry about it, I won’t write to much… ![]() That’s it. | French Erik Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Frenchi Newbe in Rebreather World Stephane, how do you guys dive non EEC certified rebreathers (such as a Meg) within an official structure in the South of France ? I am asking because I would like to dive my O2ptima in the south of France (where I am from) and have been told it'd hard to get on a boat with a non EEC (CEE) approved Rebreather. Erik |

The law here is a pain in the neck regarding this. There are a few places where you can make do with it if you are known from the operator. There are two other options I use: dive from the shore, or dive from your own boat. |

| Re: Frenchi Newbe in Rebreather World Hi everebody, Thanks for your posts. Sorry for the late reply but I'm in holyday and have less time than when I work.... @guilhem: It will be a pleasure to dive with my neighboor, in Le Rouret Plage ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() @sfldiver: civil engineering can bring you everywhere .... (even under water). ![]() @edasque: The only way to dive with a non EEC certified rebreather is to dive with friends. That was one of the raison why I've choiced the Inspiration. Not the only one, but an important one. Dura lex sed lex. There are not many owner of official structure who will take the risk to let you dive with a non EEC rebreather. Good luck. @saga: Thanks. One of my building site is between Le Muy and Sainte Maxime, it's not so far away. I'll put the Rebreather in the car for next meeting. @franck: there 's about 130km from Nice to Hyere but why not. Time to time I'm in Vitrolles (close to Marseille), so on the way back... ![]() ![]() |
