| Re: Frenchi Newbe in Rebreather World @edasque: The only way to dive with a non EEC certified rebreather is to dive with friends. Well, quite frankly, I'd hate to have to choose a machine solely on the ground that it is CE-stamped. This is probably the lowest criterium in my list. That was one of the raison why I've choiced the Inspiration. Not the only one, but an important one. Dura lex sed lex. There are not many owner of official structure who will take the risk to let you dive with a non EEC rebreather. Good luck. You can dive a non-CE certified rebreather in France in the following cases: - you show up in a dive center where the owner knows you, assesses the situation based on actual skills and let you dive (but of course, doesn't advertise it )- you dive outside of any official "dive center", that is: from a rented boat, from a friend's boat, from the shore - you dive in a cave. The silly law about CE-compliance of the unit only applies for dive centers out at sea... |
