Hello from Germany

I just want to say hello to everyone!
Up to now I am a "normal recreational diver". Currently I am in a "technical nitrox" course. I like the systematic approach of my teacher (who is a DIR cave diver), but the idea to go to dark, deep, cold places, packed with stages, does not sound too sexy to me.
I would like to go a little deeper and stay a little longer than the normal sport diver can, so the concept of a rebreather seems fascinating for me.

I have no plans to buy a rebreather in the next months, but I intend to learn from you all and your discussions in rebreatherword.

thanks for the warm welcome!
@DannyB: I live in Hannover in the north of Germany. My favourite ponds so far are Sundhäuser See / Möwensee near Nordhausen, Kulkwitzer See near Leipzig, "Löbejün" between Halle and Leipzig, "Steinbruchsee" in Pretzien, south of Magdeburg, and - of course - Hemmoor. We have a small camper van, and it is really a nice way to spend a summer weekend close to the water, and have a barbecue (and some cold beer) in the evening. Close to some of these lakes there are some real diver camps, where you always meet some cool people. In spring we spent some days in the "Lausitz" where they really have plenty of lakes (Horka, Prelle, Luise...)

For holidays my wife (she is also a diver) love to go to the mediterrean sea (Italy, Greece, Croatia...) - not only for diving, but also for having a good time (pizza, pasta, red wine, nice harbour towns, sun ...).
And and in the winter we try to have one or two weeks in a tropical region (so far: Egypt, Maledives, Philippines).
But there is so much more to see...
