| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Hi New to Rebreathers Hi everyone My name is Ashley, I am new to the site, I am in the process on doing my research and deciding on which route I want to take for a rebreather when I move to the sunny state of Florida. I have found many people to be helpful in guiding me in the right direction to the new and exciting. I have been diving for 5 years and I am a recent Padi DM. I am thinking of going towards becoming an instructor but not sure yet. I am considering a crossover into NAUI for that. As for my my reason as to wanting to get into rebreather divining! I would like to get into extensive photography with out the bubbles, stay a little bit longer. Ash |

We have a very active group of rebreather divers in Southeast Florida, known as the Rebreather World Florida S.C.R.U.B.'s. We have our own forum on this site, and our members post upcoming dives and trip reports within it, which often include lot's of pictures of the dives. Here's the link to our forum: Florida S.C.R.U.B. - Rebreather World And here's the link to a few trip reports I've recently posted, which should give you a sense of the kind of diving we're up to: http://www.rebreatherworld.com/flori...m-atria-w.html http://www.rebreatherworld.com/flori...wreck-doc.html http://www.rebreatherworld.com/flori...-de-milly.html If you scroll through our forum, you'll find lots of other trip reports we've posted. Here's a picture of a few of the Florida S.C.R.U.B.'s and our Dive Rite Optima Rebreathers on May 11, 2008 at the dock in Pompano Beach, Florida after a long 3 hour dive in approximately 70 feet of water on 3 great wrecks. BTW, our members dive other types of rebreathers as well, but the saying goes, the Optimas do seem to rule the roost. ![]() ![]() Whenever you're coming into town, just post a message within the forum and let us know when you'll be heading our way and well try to coordinate some diving, even if you haven't made the transition to a rebreather yet. Welcome to Rebreather World! Adrian

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Hi New to Rebreathers Thanks for the warm welcome. My family is looking at the Boca area or Gulf Stream/Delray area. I think from there in a few months once I am there I might head towards WPB. I need to stay within reason to the office and that will be out of my family's home. I am in the process of packing up my gear to put on the moving truck. I assume I ca leave the fourth element extreme undergarments here in the cold. Then again I might just leave the heavy Dry suit here and get a lighter one. The Whites Fusion looks like a sweet suit. I hope to head South in the next two-three weeks, and if I can I will bring some gear down with me and catch a ride on a boat. I have not done any diving since May here and I am itching to get wet and I don't thing that is happening here. |

Welcome to the neighborhood! If you're going to be in Boca, the shop you need to be familiar with is Fill Express. It's the store front for Dive Rite Express, which is a big online site. They are a rebreather friendly dive store that caters to advanced, technical and rebreather divers, but provides pretty much every possible fill you would need, and they are located in Pompano Beach, which is only a few minutes drive south from Boca. BTW, I dive a wetsuit all year round, but many of the folks I dive with dive dry, but primarily in the winter, with the exception of Howard (ScubaDadMiami), which already said hello to you - He dives dry all year round. So don't leave your drysuit and stuff behind just yet, because it might just come in handy, especially during long dives in the winter. Safe travels and look us up once you get settled in and decide it's time to take advantage of the great diving weather we have here in Sunny South Florida! Adrian
