| Looking at something new! Hi all. I'm a BSAC members who's recently moved to Essex and I'll be taking ERD in August. I'm a Sports Diver and I'll be completing DL over the next few weeks and so between the two I aim to be competent diving in the 40m+ range. My eventual aim is to progress towards trimix, but having looked at the cost of helium and the expectation of further increases I'm starting to wonder if moving towards a rebreather may be a better option, after all, the two or three I know don't stop going on about how long a 3l of O2 lasts! So, I've had a quick look around, I know absolutely nothing about rebreathers, but two questions hit me straight bewteen the eyes - how on earth do you decide on what rebreather to buy and who do you go to for training? I guess the answer to the first narrows the options for the second, but then there seems to be agency considerations? What I'm after is more along the lines of things to consider in making a selection so if anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Cheers Gav |
