| Hi All Did Rebreather demo on Optima during Dive Rite Tech Tour at Gilboa Quarry with ScubaDadMiami. Really had a good time. I will probably be blowing bubbles for a while yet, so I am pretty much here to lurk and learn. I know I can get a demo on an Inspiration. Any other manufacturers do demos on their units? -Andy PADI AI TDI Advanced Trimix NSSCDS Cave Edit: Had to edit because I said I did the demo with sfldiver when I actually did it with ScubaDadMiami. Oops.. Sorry guys. Howard, I couldn't remember your ID but I knew you were from Southern Florida. Last edited by AndrewDennis : 27th May 2008 at 20:13. Reason: My Bad! |

| Re: Hi All Andy Sounds like it made an impression on you. Are you sure it was with sfldiver. I do not think Adrian has been diving in a Ohio Quarry. Other try it dives may be available if you contact the dealers in your area or instructors on a rebreather you are interested in. Best way to find the dealers would be to go to the manufactures website. The other thing you could do is post a new thread here on Rebreather World with a descriptive title asking for information on demo dives and your location. Welcome to the board. Lots of good reading material for you. John Last edited by jkaterenchuk : 27th May 2008 at 20:22. Reason: You made the correction while I was writing my post. |

I saw this thread briefly yesterday, but just never got around to replying. Adrian, with as much as you break my stones for being an occasional quarry diver you KNOW that I had every intention of jumping off the top rope on this one!! Glad you got a chance to meet one of the Florida S.C.R.U.B.'s and to try out the Optima - It's a great unit! Best of luck to you! ![]() Alas it appears to now have been corrected, but something still smells a little fishy to me ... kind of like Eric's constant denial of his Optima crossover. I put forth the theory that Adrian really WAS diving in Gilboa quarry in Ohio, but being the crusader for south Florida diving that he is, he just couldn't let that bad press get out. So he concocted this elaborate (but shaky) back story and got Howard and the poor, unwitting new member Andrew to go along with his cover-up! Shame on you Adrian ... shame! I think you should just man up and confess your quarry diving ways!! ![]()

| Re: Hi All I wonder if Howard went below the first and second thermoclines? Adrian, I cannot lie to my good local buddy John. You went over the top when you claimed to have purchased the drysuit instead of admitting that you had to borrow one of mine. You know you had to seek the help of a local NE Quarry diver to pull off this scam. Everyone knows you never dive without a camera. Here are the pics you took of me. The proof. Anyone doubting this can compare them to the pics on this thread. http://www.rebreatherworld.com/flori...-de-milly.html |

| Re: Hi All I guess the cats really out of the bag now - I might as well fess up!!! I actually loved the quarry diving thing so much, that I'm moving North, so I can dive quarries more often! I found a nice little place just North of Bethlehem, in the Lehigh Valley. Is that anywhere near a good quarry?

| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Hi All I guess the cats really out of the bag now - I might as well fess up!!! Good man Adrian - way to come clean! I think you'll be very happy living up here and you'll enjoy our diverse diving environment. Don't forget that you'll be within driving distance I actually loved the quarry diving thing so much, that I'm moving North, so I can dive quarries more often! I found a nice little place just North of Bethlehem, in the Lehigh Valley. Is that anywhere near a good quarry? of some great Atlantic wreck diving, as well. After a couple of classes in more advanced diving than you're used to and maybe a summer's worth of the quarry, you should be qualified to go out on some of the boats. I'm sure that BMW of yours will fetch a pretty penny towards the new SUV you're going to need to haul around all of your gear; and that Imelda-Marcos-like collection of flip-flops you own should put a serious dent in the cost of a drysuit. Again, congrats and I'm looking forward to the house-warming party in the Lehigh Valley ...
