![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Another one to the Dark Side Well, a set of double 18s, 1 scooter and 5 stages is currently the max I can do on OC ... Extended bottom times, as in "shallow dive with long cave penetration", that I can understand. Deep diving not, as what you will save in deco bottles will be offset by the bailout tanks you'll have to carry along. What kind of depths are you targeting ? Did you do the bailout calculations, including of course the non-optimized deco once you revert to OC ? The logistics of gas management just becomes ridiculous with extended bottom times, deep diving and long cave dives ... ![]() I can only handle twin-15 and 3 stages (in open ocean), which is already plenty of gas, yet I did not move to rebreather because it was the tool needed for the job, but because of other reasons, among which: better deco, ligther for hopping from rock to rock when shore diving, getting closer to wildlife, and ... fun to discover a new toy ! |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Another one to the Dark Side Quote: I am currently in the process of learning but I found it is much easier than I thought, especially the trim and the bouyancy ... Sure it's easy. And it's the problem, it's often so easy that it's difficult to remember it can be sometime so difficult. ![]() Quote: I love the easiness and the solidity of the Kiss, very nicely built unit. It's a good choice -naturally less than a rEvo Now I need some time to get really confortable with it, so that all becomes second nature. And configure it best for my future use. . A CK own the terminus of Landenouze (with R. Stanton). You're welcome to go farther ![]()

Urs this is just a beginning, for learning sakes we have the right tool. I have the feeling that 4h on a cannister won't be enough pretty soon ![]() |

![]() | Re: Another one to the Dark Side Hi Cris, finally you did it ... but rebreathers are a very special domain, less "formal" than OC... ![]() |

| CK #159 Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Another one to the Dark Side It's a good choice -naturally less than a rEvo We saw some limiting factors with the rEvo that led us to the CK. There are things we are doing with the CK that I do not know could be possible with the other unit without a great deal of modification and expense. We have made some easy, but major changes to the CK to fit our diving. . A CK own the terminus of Landenouze (with R. Stanton). You're welcome to go farther ![]() Was looking at the Coupe of Landenouze on plongeesout. Is the end still at 1240m and -88 meters of depth? I would love to get back to France for some more cave diving in the Lot. Would like to make the deep circuits in Ressel and get some more diving inside your cave. Also like to get into Saint Sauveur. I have not taken the time to dive that system. It is on my list. Cheers!! Kevin |

| CK #159 Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Another one to the Dark Side What, for exemple ? Location of the manual add buttons and cylinder orientation are the two biggest. I have rigged the CK from day one with valves up. I like having the MAV on my chest. The CK came stock with a BOV. There was no fussing with getting a after market valve. There are a few other things I am planning, but they are a bit down the road. Hopefully those changes will be made before I come to France next time. Then you can see it all in person. Cheers!! Generally, CCR owner makes plenty of modifications on his breather, each better than the other, and after some month, or year, come back to the original rig. Keep it simple ! ![]()
