![]() | Hello from Ontario Hi all, I'm a newly certified diver from Ontario, Canada, who has been studying up on rebreathers for years. One of these days, I will acquire a Rebreather (funds pending), but for now, I'll continue to gather wisdom from the net and the good folks at this forum... Most of my research is focused on DIY projects, bailout procedures, and safety equipment. I've been tempted to build a simple O2 unit similar to a TP2000, but I think I'll just enjoy and accumulate experience on OC first. ![]() I really liked Stuart Fords' article on Minimizing Reabreather Fatalities; it seems to agree with a number of other articles I have read (plus common sense), that emphasize manual monitoring and bailout skills. As far as design goes, I'm also trying to find out which Rebreather's are compliant with Open Revolution standards (which shows great promise to increase RB safety), but there don't appear to be many out there yet. I suppose the billion-hour Critical Failure requirement may delay the emergence of such units for a while yet... ![]() Anyways, I look forward to getting to know my Rebreather community... |
