Re: G'day Everyone.

Hi John,

JDZ organises rebreather night get togethers at the Bells Hotel. Might be an idea to come along.....or maybe you have already and have a chat to some of the people.

Keep your eyes on Diveoz for details of upcoming Rebreather nights.

Re: G'day Everyone.

Hi John,

If you want to have a look at an O2ptima you can send me a pm and we can catch up. I live in the Western suburbs of Melbourne.

Don't stress too hard on your choice, there are a number of good rebreathers around and opportunities often present to acquire a second hand unit at a good price.

Regards,
Tony

Come up to Cairns and come diving and you can see one in action.

Re: G'day Everyone.

Welcome from the from the North Island - good to have another West Islander on board. Understand completely where you're at - it has taken me a long time and a lot of research to make a whole pile of mistakes. Luckily for you, you've got a a whole pile of people close by ready to lend you a hand and show you stuff. Try everything but above all get in the water with a unit (under supervision of course) - once you tried it, you'll love it.

Where you RAA?

Re: G'day Everyone.

Thank's for the PM's and the offers guy's and gal's. Great to see a great bunch of people who are friendly enough to offer their time to help someone out.

I was wondering if there are any publications that you could recommend that detail the diffrences between the various units. Whilst I'm using the site to source a majority of the information, it would be great to get some pictures and diagrams so I can better understand how these things work.

Re: G'day Everyone.

If you're into supporting local (Aus) industry, you might want to have a gander at the Stingray or the Abyss CCR's from Rebreathers Australia. I seriously doubt you'd have any trouble with obtaining service and support!

Rebreathers Australia

Welcome aboard!

Re: G'day Everyone.

Gunner,

Unless you have to buy a unit prior to 21 March 09, prob well worth your while going to Oztek 09 so you can a) talk to users of various units, b) see presentations of what the units are doing around the world & c) physically look at, grope or talk to the manufacturers/distributors of the various units.

regards
Brad
