Yo thereI guess the question is what you want to do with your rebreather. Is it deep, cold, warm, shallow, far away, near, easy travel, difficult customs, bad back, wreck, wall, ocean, cave .. Then ask yourself is it gonna be with electronics or without. Most CCR are with electronics, only a few are without. Is it gonna be a SCR or CCR. Most SCRs are for the shallower depth while CCRs are for the deeper depth.. Open your wallet and have a look at your bank account .. some of the units are leaving a larger hole in your account then others .. Is training and support available where you live .. I guess if you life in the U.S. everything is just a phone call away and you have forums like this one here to find help even for the most unlikely problems.. Good luck finding the right rebreather for you and enjoy Matt |

| PRISM DIVER & LUVIN IT! Current Rebreather/s: | Steve good luck in your quest, I see you are in Tenn. If possible try and stop by the PRIZM factory, nothing beats a hands on tour when shooping around the darkside! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Steve, Hi, and welcome to Rebreather World. This board has very rapidly become THE resource for information and communication by, and for, rebreather pilots of all types and stripes! That result is directly because of the calibre of our members, who are willing to share hard-won knowledge in a friendly manner! I see that our members are already making some good points to guide you. As Curt has suggested, examining the type of diving that you do most, and your aims for the future, will be very instructive. It will help our members, and you, pick the most effective unit to fit the bill. As Matt, who is a well-known instructor down in the cave systems in Mexico, has suggested, it is an important decision financially, so it literally pays to get it right. Dive2dive has a good suggestion when he says that it would be good for you to visit the Steam Machines factory in Lebanon, Tennessee. The Readey's (Peter and Sharon) are good people, and a visit there will be a great way to an understanding of rebreathers, and what it is that they all about. Don't be afraid to ask questions here. We have folks who have been diving and making rebreathers since dirt was new, and un-like some other rather unfortunate diving venues, our members tend to help rather than just slap the newbies around! Again, welcome aboard! Rob Davie
