![]() | Hello from the Big Lake They Call Gichigami Hi All, I'm a new rebreather diver from Duluth, Minnesota. I own a dive shop and dive charter business on Lake Superior and I'm an avid shipwreck hunter, I purchased my first rebreather and went through the Evolution / Vision CCR training course in October. Although this is my first rebreather, I've been diving with rebreathers for the past five years or so. Saddly the rebreathers I was diving with were on my dive buddies backs and I was the anoying OC guy that tagged along making sure that no one got to dive nearly as long as they would have liked. I've known for some time that I wanted to buy a rebreather and recently decided that I needed to throw down and just get one. I've been a dive instructor for over 15 years and the one common refreign I hear from most divers is "I wish I would have started diving a long time ago". I knew that since I'd been wanting to buy a rebreather for the past ten years or so that I would feel the same way about my Evo. Since I've purchased my breather I've planned three rebreather trips. I'm looking forward to doing a weeks worth of wreck diving in Georgia next week before we head off to Thailand in April. We'll be diving out of Koh Samui on many of the shipwrecks that have been found there in the past few years, we'll also be hunting for some new wrecks while we're there (if you're interested in joining us I still have two spots left on that trip Apr 11th through the 18th) After that, we'll be heading to Bonaire for a weeks worth of easy recreational diving before we kick off our season on Lake Superior. It's cool to be a newbie again and I'm looking forward to my future diving, who knows maybe I'll get the chance to dive with some of you. Good Diving! Jay ![]() |

I've only been on a CCR for about a year and I don't think I have a functioning piece of OC gear, except for my bailout regs, left in the dive locker. It's good to see a fellow Minnesotan on the board and if you're ever in south Florida give me a shout and we'll set up a couple of dives.

![]() | Re: Hello from the Big Lake They Call Gichigami Hey Jay, Al here. How you doing? Haven't talked since the "Gales" last fall. I to took the plunge (so to speak). Hell, I'm going on 59yrs old, how long can I wait, right? Maybe now I'll be able to get together with Ken and Bob and check out wrecks like the Wallace. Later, Al |
