![]() | Glad to Join! Hello all from Boynton Beach, Florida. I've been a commercial diver and fisher since 1975 and have been waiting for improvements in rebreather design and simplicity for long time - not to fish but to do film, photography and scientific research. I've also been anticipating the longer dives with less deco obligation so at depths of 100 feet and deeper I no longer had to carry a battleship's worth of iron for OC diving. The pinnacle of carrying the kitchen sink and all came when I took my Tri-MIx training with Billy Deans in Key West many years ago. At the conclusion of the course and subsequent dives to 320 feet with Billy during a fishery management data gathering project, I remarked to him that, while the development of OC deep diving was an impressive accompishment, I felt that overall deep OC was Neanderthal. Billy, never one discount anyone's opinion out of hand, was not offended. He asked me very seriously where I thought diving was going. I responded "Closed Circuit". We discussed it over dinner and within a very short time Billy had made the transition to CCRs. Unlike Billy, I'm a terrible procrastinator and have let the years slip by. No more! I trained on the Drager Dolphin a year ago but it served only to prompt me into full CCR diving. While the SCR is certainly an improvement over OC, it's nowhere near as versatile as what I'm hoping to be with a CCR. Currently I'm taking Sport KISS training with Doug Ebersole and looking to buy a KISS unit ASAP. It's simplicity and ruggedness appeal to me. As an aside, I wish to thank my roommate "Damseldiver" and research diving colleague Walt Stearns for motivating me to become a CCR diver. Also, Doug has been a great and patient instructor. Good diving to all, "Biminibill" Parks |

I dive a KISS its not a bad bit of kit. Id suggest taking a long look at the rEvo and the Copis Meg before you make your decision but either way its not a bad choice. Atb Mark
