Re: Hello from Miflex Hoses

Peter,
Is it what Aqualung is using on the newest Micron?
I've seen these hoses up close and I like very much the bending radius and mouvement capability.
Best

Question Re: Miflexhoses - US Distributor or RBW Store

Hi Peter,

Welcome to Rebreather World... curious if you have a US Distributor or if you are maybe going to offer them through the RBW store?

Also, just curious how the braiding holds up in highly saline environments... note my location... the salt tends to eat into just about everything!

Regards,
Ryan

How flexible are these hoses compared to "normal" ones? Do they get stiff in colder waters?

Take care

Re: Hello from Miflex Hoses

Is it possible to customize hose lengths ourselves, using hose repair kits (typically used on rubber LP hoses)? or do we need to specify custom hose lengths in order for you (the manufacturer) to permanently crimp on Miflex special fittings to the hose?

Re: Hello from Miflex Hoses

OK I will try and answer all questions, but also please feel free to email us your queries at enquiries@maxshow.co.uk and we can respond to your individual requirements:

Gilles
Our hoses have specific fittings which are unique to our hoses and as such we would manufacture lengths to your specifica requirements, if they are not in our standard range. If this was a size required by a number of people, we could add this to our stock range.

Richard
The hoses are substantially more flexible and lighter than traditional hoses and although all hoses strengthen under pressure, they do not lose the ability to be much more flexible than traditional rubber hoses.

Divnsnapper
We are currently in discussions to create a US & Canadian distributor, but this is not in place as yet. with regards to saline conditions, there are no adverse effect to our hose under these conditions.

Phillipe
Yes they are Miflex Xtreme hoses are being used on the new Aqualung Mikron range of equipment

Ian
I have asked the Technical manager for a more detailed reply to your questions and hope to be in touch soon. Our hoses are tested to EN250 which is the recognised and required level for all LP hoses. The tests we carry out on the production line are to test the workability of the hose and we feel that these tests are carried out on each and every hose, our standards are higher than other hose manufacturers.

thanks again to all for the questions

Peter

Peter.
Thanks for the update on this, I look forward to your full response on the technical attributes of your product. Truth is if it can be proven to have all the benefits of a lightweight, high burst, good pull resistance, coupled with the benefits of a long life, scuff resistance, all up against the SAE100 R3 current specification then as supplier willing to discuss and supply directly to users you are on a winner.

There are designs going on in diving regulators for a deep water mixed gas applications that requires the interstage hose to carry full cylinder pressure in the event of a 1st stage failure, rather than allowing the small fixed mass of stored gas to escape through a relief valve. At present the design is around a R7 spec hose so you can imagine the interest your product could have in this application alone. Although EN250 is relivent for SCUBA Air I trust understand the limited test criteria in EN250 is simply not sufficient for ourselves. iain

Re: Hello from Miflex Hoses

Ian

Thanks again for the feedback, and as I said I have asked our technical manager for a response so I can send it to you.

I would though highlight that our hoses are for Low Pressure applications and not High pressure. This I state as I am aware that SAE100 R3 can be a specification for HP applications.

Once I have the feedback I will contact you

Peter
