Argue and plug DR Express all you want, the fact is the Inspiration/AP units fall behind in this category. Sorry to jump in here but......."standard" parts you say, can you buy a battery for the meg in Kmart?

But based upon the inaccuracies in your posts about the inspiration I would not give your comments much merit.I personally would have no idea about the flexibility and interchangeability of parts on the Meg or the Optima because I do not own and have had limited exposure to them. I could not comment on how they compare to the inspiration or the Kiss Classic. The two units I have experience with. However, you have also missed my point. You were clearly giving information about the inspiration that was not correct. As a result I will certainly have a BS filter engaged when reading your posts and opinions in the future. My reference to DR express was to back up my statement and give you factual information. From your statement I see that it has not been taken this way. That's unfortunate. I have no affiliation with them except what I and everyone else can see on their website. John |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Megaladon Versus Optima Fx Trying to get back to what Finni asked in the first place I'll explain why i chose the meg over other units. I wanted first and foremost a reliable unit with few things to malfunction or break. Getting spares would be tricky and time consuming here ( slow customs processing, shipping etc) and i really hate missing dives... I wanted something modular and the meg is just that so i can expand it's capabilities as i gain experience. The HH are better electronics than apecs 2 and most of the bugs have been sorted out now with the plastic handsets but apecs still get the job done so i'm happy for now. Extendairs were out of the question, i don't know if anyone stocks them here and i wouldn't bother importing them, simply too much hassle. Also it was easier to get an instructor for the meg than any of the other units Hope this helps Dimitris |
