| EBT called me stroppy! Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Megaladon Versus Optima Fx Yeah yeah, all of this technibubble is bwullshevik. If I wouldn't have got such a good deal on my Optima I would've gotten a meg simply because it is proven for longer durations and is more flexible to different configurations of cylinders/scrubbers.... and it is black which means it is stealthier and more tacticool.

| Re: Megaladon Versus Optima Fx Come on guys! You are right, but a mod can't have a pirate's avtarThe thread is Meg vs. Optima NOT Sorb vs. EAC Lets move on to other aspects of each unit. I think the OP can figure out which scrubber to use by now. Does this post qualify me as a mod? ![]() . ![]()

| Re: Megaladon Versus Optima Fx Hi Finni, I live in Brazil and got the Megalodon because here is more easy to got sorb for Meg scrubber.I think the O2ptima have best electronics, but some people told to me that hammerheads have some issues in the harness. If you got a Meg, you will have a more simple electronics, but realiby.Cheers,Bruno Fagundes

If the PO2 gets to .19 on the HH the Diva is vibrating & buzzing. It's very hard not to notice. That incident would have never happened with HH electronics. Richie |

This is one of the most dangerous things i have heard in a long time.If the PO2 gets to .19 on the HH the Diva is vibrating & buzzing. It's very hard not to notice. That incident would have never happened with HH electronics. Richie NEVER say that something can NEVER happen. Just because there is a buzzer on the Diva does not mean that i will not fail. I know very little about the HH so i will not speculate too much. And please correct me if i am wrong. But i believe that even the Diva is driven by a battery? And what do we all know about the lasting of the batteries on the HH? And when you refer to the actual accident. The guy was a newbie, the guy did a VERY stupid thing. And by turning of the O2 on ANY rebreather you could get yourself in this situation. /Jonny

| Re: Megaladon Versus Optima Fx Go read the the "Meg Diver Pool Incident" and tell me again how the Meg Electronics are better than the HH Electronics on the Optima.... People have jumped off boats and went to the bottom and drowned from not turning tank valves on. I'm pretty sure they knew they didn't have air. Just pannicked. Seen people spit there reg out and try to swim to the surface. Seen people breathe a tank empty and keep trying to get air out of it in a Pool instead of surfacing. If the PO2 gets to .19 on the HH the Diva is vibrating & buzzing. It's very hard not to notice. That incident would have never happened with HH electronics. Richie Never say never. |

An over reach on my part to say never, but I stand by the assertion that it would be very likely that the incident wouldn't have happened.NEVER say that something can NEVER happen. The guy was a newbie, the guy did a VERY stupid thing. And by turning of the O2 on ANY rebreather you could get yourself in this situation. /Jonny The Diva is driven by the battery on the secondary handset. As far as battery issues are concerned, if you change AA's every time you change the cartridge, or as I do on a daily basis, you will never... OK OK, it would be very unlikely that there would be any battery issues. Unfortunately people end up doing very stupid things on a fairly regular basis..... With rebreathers it can end very badly.... The buzzing Diva is just one more tool to help get you out of a bad situation. Of course you can't depend 100% on anything, including electronics, manual valves, regulators, etc. But having additional tools in the arsenal can be very helpful. Richie |
