![]() | Hi From Cape Town, S. Africa Just to say hello, I am an old commercial diver that started diving for diamonds in South West Africa (now Namibia) We worked from a small ship and we used one of the first available Draeger's semi-closed circuit with nitrox. I also assisted the police on recoveries and worked and ran a small diving business in Cape town. I have also done some wreck diving. I am now 61 and dive from time to time, when I can, as it appears that my wetsuit keeps on shrinking... I find your forum very interesting and I am encouraged to continue diving with my son of 16. Cape Town is a great place for this. Depending on the sea conditions, one can choose to dive from two Oceans: Atlantic or the Indian Ocean, where the water is warm and the Great Whites are so abundant. On the Atlantic side the water is much colder. Mikealfa |
