Hailing from Venezuela

Hello

I am new to rebreatherworld (registered yesterday) and just wanted to introduce myself. Please excuse me if opening a new thread is not the proper way to do it (I haven't found out how to make a post yet. Any help would be gretly appreciated). Also excuse my poor English. Anyway, My name is Daniel.I made my first open circuit dive in 1975 here in Venezuela. I have been diving OC with more or less frequency since then. Back then there were little formal recognized traning and certification here, so I began in a way being somewhat "self-taught" so to speak, but I was a voracious reader of everything related to diving (not all of it was current knoledge of course).

Later I studied Biology, obtained formal certification in a recognized training agency and I have done a little scientific diving (Venezuelan style) at the University. So far as I know rebreather diving here is non-existing (except maybe in the oil extraction industry or the military) but no technical divers that I heard of so Im a "rebreather-virgin", but I have a lot of curiosity about the possibilities for tech and/or scientific diving, even though I have almost no academical or practical knowledge about it. Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.

Greetings to all of you

Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Welcome to Rebreatherworld!
You came to the right place to educate yourself about rebreathers. Read up as much as you can and don't hesitate to ask any questions.
I hope you will be able to try out some rebreathers in the future.

Again, welcome on board.

RBN

Re: Hailing from Venezuela

Thanks RBN
I hope to learn as much as I can and if I have enough luck to one day help to pass along what I learned to other divers interested in rebreathers.
I have already found a technical instuctor who is a member of Rebreatherworld here in Venezuela and another venezuelan technical diver interested in rebreathers so maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to try one.

Greetings

Daniel.
