Hello from a future Rebreather diver

Just following established protocol and submitting a general introduction and background.

I have been diving for 25yrs + I have progressed up to DM in the OW world. I am also full cave through NACD, and advanced trimix through TDI. I have decided I want to take my video/photography to the next level and I have decided to go CCR. I am exploring my options and am leaning towards the meg. Anyone selling theirs?

I hope to gather some info and find someone selling one shortly.

Re: Hello from a future Rebreather diver

Hi Diverdude2,

Glad to have another fellow South Floridian making the transition to closed-circuit. Not sure how long you have been monitoring RW, but we have a very active rebreather diving community in the area, and our numbers are increasing. If you haven't already, check out the Florida S.C.R.U.B. section within the Forum section of this site and you will see trip reports and pictures from some of our recent trips.

I can't speak about the Meg, but I'm sure it's a great rebreather. I personally dive the Optima and I have no regrets at all. I urge you to at least give the Optima fair consideration, especially because of the local support we have for it in the immediate area. Dive Rite Express (Dive Rite Express), which is local here in Pompano Beach, has some detailed information about the unit on their site, which will provide you with more information to assist you in making a side-by-side comparrison with whatever other designs you are considering.

Good luck and let us know when you're up and running.
