| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Just Another Socal Rebreather Diver Well, it seems customary to introduce oneself on these boards so I will do so. I started diving the Draeger SCR a number of years and later advanced to the Inspiration first classic then with the Vision electronics. My dad dives a Inspiration with Vision electronics and a Evolution which he occasssionally let's me make use of. We are one big happy rebreather diving family from Southern California! I was certified by the most capable Rusty Berry at Scuba Schools of America on my rebreathers and he referred me to this website. I am 24 years old and have dove with my rebreather all over the world. I hope all is well in rebreather land! |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Just Another Socal Rebreather Diver Hey I do most of my diving through Rusty Berry at Scuba Schools of America. Do you remember Dan, the guy who used to own one of their affiliated stores on Ventura Blvd that is now another store? If you spent much time with him you must have run into Rusty at some point.I'm also in woodland hills. where are you diving? I'll go out pretty broadly locally a few times a year followed by a couple of dedicated dive trips a year. Most recently this summer, I went on a trip with Rusty to Truk Lagoon diving the WWII wrecks there and also another trip to the Phillipines that made for some awesome diving. I would highly recommend Rusty and his international dive trips. They are always a lot fun and consist of good diving, good times, and good people. Unfortunately my education has forced me to miss some other great trips my Dad became the sole beneficiary of with Rusty in Fiji (I believe he has an annual New Years Trip), Little Cayman, and Mexico. Although I did manage to dive with my Dad in Cozumel, the Cenotes, and off a couple of spots in and around Cancun, but not during a dedicated "Dive Trip" per say. In my pre-rebreather era, I did a lot of diving in Hawaii, but that has lost some magic for me a little bit since. I mean I got to dive the USS Missenewa, one of two US boats sunk in WWII by a Japanese Kaitan suicide torpedo boat and became part of a pretty exclusive club that has done so in Ulithi (place in Micronesia technically part of Yap, but it's own separate atoll in fact). Does it get better than than that? Rebreathers have been very good to me indeed. How about yourself? |

I am finishing up my CK training with Rusty now. I dive with about 10 rebreather divers in San Diego (rEvo II's, Inspirations, CK's & MK 15.x's) I would never steal any thunder from Rebreather World, but if you are looking for a local trip or guys to drink a lot of beer with check out SDTechDiving. We normally dive in the 150-300' range. But may have some new sites to check out in the 100' range. I am new here at Rebreather World as well so I don't know if my welcome carries much weight but, welcome. |
