New member introduction

Hi everyone,

My name is Lisa, and I’m new to the forum. South Florida is where I call home and it’s a great place to dive! I work at my brother’s dive shop, Fill Express, and I do the product photography for our web sites, Dive Rite Express and Rebreather Express.

I’ve been diving the Dive Rite O2ptima for just over a year and have about 200 hours on it. Last April, just after my 50th birthday, I was CCR Trimix certified and have since taken the O2ptima to 310 feet (in the Caymans with DiveTech, also a great place to dive).

I was previously certified on the Drager Dolphin SCR rebreather in La Paz, Mexico. About six years ago, I first learned to dive on Johnston Atoll in the Pacific, and have about 450 logged dives.

I’m also an avid underwater videographer and am currently using a Sony HDR HC3 with a Seatools housing. You can watch some of my videos at LEDiveVideo.com.

I would love to hear from other women rebreather divers, or any thinking about becoming rebreather divers.

Hi Lisa,

Most of us South Florida rebreather divers have had the good fortune, not only to dive with Lisa, but to see her amazing videos. Several of her videos have already been referenced on RebreatherWorld on numerous occasions in the past - Definitely check them out!

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that it will be nice to see the under-represented female rebreather diving perspective on this site, and as a bonus, an Optima diver - Our numbers are steadily growing!!!

what were you doing on johnston atoll??

if you dont mind me asking, its not exactly a vacation spot.

did you have to carry nbc gear with you all the time?

i got lucky during a pcs and got sent to the desert instead, oh 1991 i miss being young...............
