Not just "a couple of new SK divers" I would suggest....

Anyone else feel like they just bought a Lamborgini but p*ssed that they're only allowed to drive it in first gear?

Ben,

That'd only be a problem if you go locations where they are very strict about the certification and depth-limit, etc.

Personally, I have not encountered any problem with diving my SK deeper than the 50m limit.

True true true but.... (you knew there was gonna be a but)

In the UK rules tend to get stuck to fairly rigidily, if you live here and disagree that probably means you've never been abroad and seen the sh*t they can get away with!

Getting a Mod 3 will be difficult if not impossible (The fact I have OC trimix is irrelavent)

Diving beyond the manufacturers depth limit within the British Sub Aqua club will cause problems with insurance and gets people other than the diver in trouble- the Dive Marshall and Diving Officer of your club will be up sh*t creek, paddleless and rapidly approaching a waterfall!

Lastly your own personal insurance will fly out the window like a pig on wings if you bend the snot out of yourself at 70mtrs on a SK and they find out about it!

Technically its not a HUGE problem for me yet as I'm very much still learning, but in 18months to 3yrs time I'm gonna have to trade-in for something else

Told you there is a silver lining behind each and every single rain cloud...

Can you sit down, take a deep breath and repeat after me slowly...

"I am going to have more than 1 unit!"

There you go!

I have to repeat slowly the opposite: "I never going to have more than 1 unit"! Because I'already thinking to something else.

Dude,

Better men than you have been assimilated, so just remember...

Resistance is futile!

Plus it is a great time now to buy a 2nd-hand Inspiration as far as prices. And you personally know of a really nice instrokestor who will give you a x-over course in warmwater for only a couple bottles of wine.

Yes.... but its like admitting you own a Porsche Boxster... everyone is happy for you but deep down we all know it means you couldn't afford a 911

Same for a classic Inspiration... "What this I see? That poor chap's still got one of those rebreathers with the two massive bricks dangling off the front, golly what a blast from the past"

Yeah well was wondering where to do Mod 2&3.... guess I now have to do 2 + 3 + crossover!! Should be able to brush that off in a week? HA HA
