Hey kids,

I thought I'd say hello. I have been enjoying browsing the forum for the last 6 months or so and I finally posted over on another silly thread....and so I thought I'd officially do the introduction thingy. I live in Lake Shitty, FL and work at Dive Rite. I'm looking forward to getting trained on the Otooptima (should be happening in a couple of weeks). I will undoubtedly get myself my own unit and will probably try to find a way to put some big bailout bottles with it because it will probably accompany me on a lot of cave dives. I am a newbie and I've read a lot of criticism about the unit on this forum but I think it will be sweet. The first batch will be coming out very soon (no smartA comments about how long it took the Arrow to come out please!).

Thanks for the welcome.

No, I do not know either of those folks. I guess I might, but I just don't know them by their handles.

The breathing loop is built in Canada by Farallon. Yep, you're right - sort of. DR would be more considered the distributor. PST cylinders, HH electronics, Extendair can.... The unit is actually gonna be sold without a BP/harness/aircell - it'll be up to the indiv. to put whatever harness and aircell they want. I'll probably put a red Transpac on mine with a red aircell. I may have to spray paint the rest of it red too!

I have over 300 hours on the Optima and it dives great. Very water resistant and reliable.

and JPJones.

RebreatherWorld definitely is the place to talk rebreathers.

Jordan, forget the negativity that gets posted about the O2ptima.

In my opinion, rebreathers are just like cars.

Everyone thinks that his/her brand or model of car is better than the other brand…….That is why he/she drives it.

And the same can be said about rebreathers.

I look forward to meeting both of you while I’m playing in Florida in a couple of weeks time.

Just spent the weekend diving at the mount with Paul A. He's pretty excited about joining you guys too... Have a great time...
