Newbie Here!

Hi folks! I'm Kevin in Stafford, VA, and I'm finally getting back into diving! I was certified in the USMC, but when I was involoved in a car accident, I lost my dive status due to injuries suffered. Then, I was medically retired , and never had the patience to go back through civilian training and get recertified just to do bottle dives. So, a new guy shows up at my place of work, and I find out he is an IANTD certified instructor!! We are in the process of completing a recert for me, so I can get wet again!! Anyway, glad I found the site! Hopefully, I can get to know you all better and maybe get together and dive sometime soon.

Thanks! I don't know when my recert process will be completed. I have asked him to put me through a full refresher course, because it has been almost 9 years since I dove the last time. I also want to get my kids certified to dive, so I will have someone to dive with regularly. Both of them are very interested in anything related to adventure or action. I may just buy bottle systems for all of us till I get more comfortable diving with rebreathers enough to dive with only myself and my kids and until I believe they are ready for it. I also need to wait until I can afford rebreather set ups. Again, thanks for the welcome, and I may contact you next spring/summer to get together and dive.
