lucky last mk15.5 in oz

Hi everyone,my name is Michael Collins, I'm 1 of 11 divers in Australia (unless I have forgotten someone) with a mk15.5 the unit was second hand and was given a total refit just like a new one and maybe the last one , Unless someone else trades their 15.5 in for a Eagle Rebreather from Colkan which is not too far away.

I pick the unit up from Colkan only last weekend. I live on the Central Coast north of Sydney.

I have been to the last four ozteks to see the the great talks given and to also go to Colkan Stand each time to re-confirm my plans to get a mk15.5 instead of one of those yellow box's.

After a number of days at colkan factory being made to do everything over and over again till it was second nature. Had all my questions answer base on what I have been told or read found to be not true. eg. how hard it to clean counter lung (it take less than 3 mins and a garden hose is needed). the tanks are no good after being droped. "that is also not true,go and get them tested your will be surprised what they can take"no I'm not going to try" as that is one thing colkan cannot supply".

First dive in the pool, It worked like clock work with the latest Electronics. With my first remark to Colin was,"it was worth the 7 year wait, Glad I didnt buy anything else. Cant wait for HUD to be ready and what this rubbish about them being bum heavy, mind was not".

Regards
Michael Collins

Re: lucky last mk15.5 in oz

congrats!

Reminds me; I was having dinner this week with the director of ADEX (Dema of asia) when we were joined by a friend of hers. A brief intro highlighted that he is the sales manager for Carlton rebreathers over here meeting/selling to various Navies. Needless to say I grilled him as much as I could even offered sexual favours but no chance of getting any bits and pieces. He was most surprised to hear I dived a MK15.5 and that there were so many out there (I described to him that they were bascially MK16 as he had no idea what a 15.5 was). Interesting that he said Carlton only sell/promote the Viper to military now for a long time. He had the latest eCCR Viper with him.....big price tag!

G'day Michael,
Good to see ya here but shouldn't you still be working, paying for it instead of being a slacker.
