Hi All

Hello fellow divers,

At the risk of sounding self obsessed I will give a brief history of my diving career to date then ask for some advice if I may!

I started diving in Mykonos in 1989 when working at Paradise campsite for the season. The Naui instructor needed a stand building for his compressor and I offered to do this for him. When it was complete he informed me that he couldn't pay me but would teach me to dive instead! I took him up on his offer and ended up working with him for the summer taking try-dives into 8 meters off the beach!

When I returned to the UK I joined my local BSAC club and learned about diving in the UK. Quite a difference but I still loved it. For the next few years I dived the east coast wrecks regularly with Gordon Wadsworth and then later on the club or club members ribs.

In the last few years I have done less diving in the North sea and more in Scotland and abroad with regular trips to Scapa, Mull and the Summer Isles. I wont list the resorts abroad suffice to say that we try to go once a year, so there aren't many destinations we have missed. The best however, has to be mentioned, a three week trip to Truk, Yap and Palua. The diving is all you have read about and more...I am lucky enough to be going back to Palau next February!

So here I am thinking about a Kiss rebreather. I need some help please! My philosophy has always been to keep it simple, dive with as little equipment as possible to stay safe! I enjoy the experience of being in the underwater environment and exploring wrecks and the less I have to wear to get there the better. So Kiss would seem to be the ideal solution.

What to do next? I have contacted Kiss through their website and can buy a unit with little fuss. However, I still need training. A buddy suggested doing the Inspiration course then buying a Kiss but surely the course will be specific to the equipment. I feel that I need the basics as although I am an experienced diver it has always been on air.

All suggestions gratefully received...
