![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Hi new Sith lord on rEvo rebreather There's five of them in San Diego, California. We completed our training the last week of August 2007 and been diving them as much as we can. We have cross-over CCR divers within our group and the consensus is that the rEvo is a very, very nice rig. I'm new to CCR so my opinion is only that compared to OC. What is my opinion? I LOVE the rEvo. I will probably never touch my OC gear again. The rEvo trims out extremely well and no one in our group had any buoyancy or trim issues with the unit. We got dialed in very quickly. Very easy to dive, comfortable and easy WOB as long as your not vertical or on your back. In fact, I never really notice the breathing unless I look up or do barrel turns. I also love that this unit is modular and adding off-board or electronics (setpoint controller) can be done very easily. Additional scrubber time? No problem, just add the extended canister. Radial scrubbers? Should be coming out in 2008. There are many options for the unit and the rEvo easily upgraded. Also love the rEvo Dreams. Very easy to use. Easy to calibrate. You never need to open the unit, just use a series of taps (you'll get used to them quickly) and you've calibrated or set up the Dreams for your dive. Couldn't be simpler. I also love the HUD system which is very easy to follow. Another aspect of the rEvo that I like is that it comes ready to fly - includes EVERYTHING, including O2 sensors, harness, wing, etc. The only thing our group in San Diego needed to add were the tanks/valves which need to be DOT stamped, but the rEvo usually comes with these as well. Its a complete system and not a kit. Its a very streamlined unit and a very well thought-out system. I was impressed with Paul Raymaekers attention to detail and it was very clear that he had thought through his design over the last four years very carefully. There are design features which I didn't even know about, and they all make great sense and makes the rEvo a very simple and robust unit. We did over 42 collective dives during our training and there were no issues which came up. Since that time, we've logged about 10 hours each on our units and, again, there have been no issues with these units. Post-dive clean up is a breeze, just remove scrubber canisters, breathing hose and rinse. The large openings make it very simple to rinse and dry out. There will be more training occurring in the next few months so I'm sure there will be more reports. The group in San Diego would post more, but we're too busy diving our rEvo's ![]() Regards, Paul

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Hi new Sith lord on rEvo rebreather thanks for the pub Paul! :-) You make giving props to the rEvo easy - its a great rig.great that you're having a good time.... waiting for your L3/L5 training?? paul I'm finding the rEvo more suitable to underwater survival with each dive I find diving more relaxing then on OC, but perhaps that is because I am not doing the deep technical dives that we have been doing on OC in the past years. I'm sure not having three stage bottles probably helps make the recent rEvo dives more relaxing. Once I reach my planned depth, I rarely touch the O2 add button, the orifice works extremely well, and the HUD keeps me abreast of any change in my ppO2, although I am frequently checking the rEvo Dreams handsets. And L3/L5? What's that? When are you and Marc coming back out to San Diego? Or perhaps we need to visit you in Belgium for further training? I'd like to meet Stampertje one day .
