![]() | Hello to everyone...... Hi, I have been lurking round the edges of Rebreather world for a little over 12 months now and thought it was about time that I actually posted an introduction. I have been diving for around 3 years now, almost exclusively wrecks in the UK, but I have also dived in St Lucia and in the UAE. I dived on twinsets for around a year then finally bit the bullet and bought an Inspiration, which I have been diving for the last 12 months or so. I have to say that diving has been a great experience for me and I have been luck enough to meet many interesting people along the way. Unfortunately however it has come time with the pitter patter of tiny feet due fairly soon that my first post is likely to be my last, and that it is time to hang up the kit to concentrate on other things. I thought it would only be polite to introduce myself before attempting to flog off some kit ;-) Anyhoo no doubt I'll be posting some items in the near future if anything is of interest please let me know. Neil. |

After the adrenaline rush of the birth of my first child I left wife and child in the hospital to wet the baby's head with a few mates. "Phew, at least that's over" I said, thinking I was over the hard part. "Yeah, it all gets steadily harder from here" came the reply from a young father. The comment sounded bitter, and in bad taste, at the time, but it was true: the cost of nappies and nipple brushes was nothing compared to the cost of school fees. Ultimately, of course, the baby's going to grow up to want the car keys: she is. The cost of a rebreather pales into insignificance compared to the school fees stretching out to infinity, along with those of her sisters. Ultimately, midnight feedings lose their allure, and diving is an oasis of calm in a continuum of red-eye midnight feedings. You will feel good when you sacrifice your 'breather. But from day two on you'll wish you hadn't. |
