| Holiday diver Current Rebreather/s: | G'day/ goeiemorgen Hi, just a quick intro. I'm denzel, oc-ing for a long long time, but pretty fresh at Rebreather's. I started in playing with an rgu/fm in holland and got the Rebreather-bug. Got a mate to explain a dolphin and lend it to me, a (long)while later got certified, got an atlantis, did some diving, playing and now finally ordered a kiss valve. Haven't decided on ppo2 monitoring tho. Mark Munro's 3 sensor/ display looked great, but here I read about a fair few of them flooding. Was this user error, or are the not too robust? And any other options, specially in that price range? I'm (we're) in australia at the moment, but in 3 weeks we're flying to holland to live there for a while, due to GF (australian) wanting to live there for a while, meet my family etc.. I'm already looking forward to running back to oz after that adventure. Good to see a lot of familiar names here... denz.

Some are very sophisticated conversions, others more simple .... at least so far. I too considered the mark monroe PO2 monitors, I really like the DIY stuff. In the end, I went with the HSE PO2 monitor. I use an HSE computer and I'm used to the button interface, and I like the support that Gene gives his customers. Given the leak issues others have described, I'm very glad I went with the HSE. It has occured to me, however, that leaks on the monroe monitors may be a result of dimensional tolerances between lots of the lexan tubing used for the housings. Out of roundness, or inside diameter surface irregularities would be hard for the O rings to seal reliably at depth. Might explain why some are constant problems and others never leak a drop. Perhaps chucking the tube in a lathe and making a minimal cleanup cut where the Orings seal would help the leaky ones. As an alternative to the monroes, take a look at this one: http://insane.bug-e.net/Puffer/PPO2/index.html I think this is the box that JDZ uses for his monitors and has had it to great depths without problem. Good luck with your conversion, Darlene |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi Denz, Good to see you onboard... This is the place for lots of pictures and info, thats for sure... wrt Darlene's comments.. I agree wholeheartedly that it is necessary to machine the lexan tube and get the parts to fit "perfectly", two comments though.. A) Mark does not sell the casings/tubes etc... his electronics are good but assembled by you, as an aside, I found it quite difficult to draw a Hud off his circuitry). So any excuses re casings are user error!! B) wrt to leaking casings, remember that you have the option to maintain the sensor to meter loop at ambient pressure, hence the unit does not need to be bulletproof to 150m+ !! Anyway Cheers for now, JDZ btw are you still interested in the shell?? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Ho Denzel. There are quite a few Mark Munroe units in Melb and a few less in Sydney. I think the unit it's self is great and I would suggest considering the the one display but three sensor model. It can do one if that is all you want/need and/or upgrade to two later or three. Richard's from South Africa is a sweet unit and lends its self to a HDD conversion pretty easily. (got to know the right men) Also a good simple installation is the KISS displays, small simple and ready to go. Depending on how you intend to put the Sensors in the unit, T-pieces on the loop or P-ports in a lung etc, http://www.tecme.de/zubehoer.htm will be able to help if you don't have access to a lathe or its operator. Where are you living these days? Anywhere close to Tubby? I am sure he can give you some to look at and help with a decision. Welcome aboard, the ride is fun. Wiz |

| Holiday diver Current Rebreather/s: | Thanx guys, it's almost like coming home. Wiz, At the moment still in toowoomba. No ocean, no intelligent life, no fun... The 30th we'll fly to holland. JDZ, am still in doubt. Might have found a total new way of BP, 2 tanks and the original shell. Will let you know about failure (likely.grin) or succes. Chris, YES! I'd love to play with anything I can get my hands on.... I'll happy share with nath.lol. Your dog is safe tho. Dan, sweet memories... I even kinda miss it. Vixen, I had a look, but I'm hopeless with electronics and it has to be very obvious how it goes together for me to understand that. Mechanics are sweet, but electronics.... The thing I liked about the munro sets was that they look very very simple and straight forward. Would love something with 3 displays next to eachother. Kinda fell in love with the ppo2 monitoring that comes with the sportskiss, but that's to exxy. Sexy tho. Anyone any munro 3 display kicking about where you'd wanna part with? Thanx heaps, denz.
