| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | introduction... Meg/inspiration question... Hello all... been diving for about 3-4 years now. planning on getting a CCR next year so beginning my investigation as to which unit would be best for me. My IANTD instructor dives on a inspiration so any conversations I have with him always involve me going that route. Now I'm sure they are a very good first unit, but I've got it into my head that I want to go Meg. Can someone who has experience on both please offer me some pros and cons of either unit other than the obvious backup that is available in the UK for the Inspiration as it has a CE mark. Thanks in advance... Jon |

I originally trained on an borrowed inspo with the intention of buying one. I found after training that the build quality was not up to my expectations. There were cracks in the handset and shell casings from previous use. I am hard on my gear and I wanted something that would stand a bit of abuse. I also wanted something that would travel well. My friend owned a meg and I had bought a sport kiss for travelling but was amazed at how well the meg travelled. It goes as carry on luggage when I fly.

![]() ![]() | Re: introduction... Meg/inspiration question... Hi... I've only tried a Inspo, and I'm happy with my unit... It's a used unit, and the only reason why the choice fell on an Inspo, was because I could buy it rather cheap compared to a new unit. I badly want a new unit, not because i don't like this one, just because I want a brand new unit. And that unit will not be a Inspo, that's for sure... What I know of the Meg, it's a very good unit, nice for travelling, and so... If money wasn't the issue, I would buy a Boris or a Meg... Best Regards Bo Urskov |
