| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | CCR In Mauritius In my quest to try all things CCR before I part with hard earned....and loads of it! I have a day on a Vision booked in Mauritius with Dive Mauritius - we're going to cover some theory, pool stuff and then some open water. Does anyone have any experience "experiences" that they feel they should share before I depart for warmer waters, or things I should also try etc? any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Andi |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: CCR In Mauritius Cheers John - strangely enough, I'm on a business trip, but managed to get a weekend there at the start of my week, have an OC day on the Sat and then CCR on the Sun, in mega grief as I got married in the hotel next door to the one I'm staying in, and the wife's stopping at home.....she'll manage, i reckon a week without me in the way of shopping is more than enough compensation. ![]() |

![]() | Re: CCR In Mauritius Hi Andi, I hope you let us know how it went with the Rebreather in Mauritius. I am traveling to this island since almost 10 years, even when it got a little bit complicated when my company relocated me from Europe to the US East Coast. Heck, everything has a up- and downside, after all I started diving here in the US. During the last three years I have been diving on my trips to Mauritius. Mainly at Flic en Flac on the West Coast, where I stay at a friends place. It is only a short walk for me to the "Exploration-sous-marine" Dive Center run by Pierre Szalay ( pierre-szalay.com ). He and his staff run a very smooth and relaxing operation (OC) and usually have a morning and afternoon dive to the close by dive sites. Even after three trips I still look very much forward to go back and dive there. If I have the chance to go to the East Coast I try to dive with Dave Koosul (divetimeltd@yahoo.com - OC), who has his boat located close to the "Pass de Belle Mare" a break in the barrier riff, where the lagoon drains into the open sea. This makes an incredible drift dive if the conditions are right, not to say that the boat ride back through the surf is an adventure by its own rights. I am curious about your experiance with the Rebreather on the island. I probably wouldn't ship my Sport Kiss, which I dive since a year here in the Northeast, due to the lack of infrastucture. However I wouldn't mind to get a long CCR dive into my log book, even when it is under the excuse of an CCR initiation Stephan |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: CCR In Mauritius I will let you know how it all goes, only 10 days now until I leave NZ for warmer water - i believe that there are a few CCR units on the island, but they are all Visions and that they aren't really supported, at one point I was asked if I could bring sorb with me, hence why I don't think that they're that well supported, apart from air mail from the UK, there are almost daily flights from there so I know the good folk at AP can get spares out there etc - similar issue to living here in NZ, Inspirations by far out number anything else, and the air mail support from the UK is also good - watch this space - I really want to see how much more I can see there with no bubbles..... ![]() |

I've had 7 so far and I'm happy with the value I've got diving them for a while then selling them for most of what I paid for them. I didn't do very well on my CCR 2000s But even then I got a lot of the money back. The other thing is that they are all usable. Some will fit your diving better than others, but they all get the job done. You'll probably find that you don't know what you want until you have 100 hours on one of them.
